Even when machinery has been regularly serviced and maintained, some parts just wear out over time. These are referred to as “wear items” and are designed to be replaced after a certain amount of time. At some point, you’ll need new hydraulic hoses, wear pads, pins, bushings, wire rope, and similar items for your crane, excavator, or forestry equipment.
In other cases, wear and tear affect how different parts of the equipment work together. Typically, bores between two pieces are made to exact specifications. Over time, these bores can elongate through use and normal wear and tear. However, unlike wear items, these pieces are much more difficult, time-consuming, and expensive to repair.
When two bores are no longer in alignment, the machine could experience vibration or “clunk.” If left unaddressed, the bores will continue to elongate which can lead to a catastrophic failure and extended downtime.
We provide financing options for your next forestry equipment purchase. Triad Machinery works with a number of lenders and can provide you with the best rates to meet your business needs.
Triad Machinery offers a few line boring services. The first option Triad Machinery offers is bore welds. This method welds material to the bore of an existing machine part and recreates the bore to exact specifications. Repair sleeves may also be manufactured and inserted into the enlarged bore. No further action is needed on corresponding bores if they have been unaffected.
Another option is to widen the bore to remove the elongation to create a perfect circle once again. If there are collinear bores, this will need to be done to multiple pieces to create collinear bores. You are essentially changing the size of the original equipment manufacturer bores.
